Quick Answer: Tomorrowland Camping or Hotel?
The camping at dreamville vs hotel accommodation at Tomorrowland is a question that gets asked every year.
Choose Dreamville Camping if you want the full Tomorrowland experience with The Gathering (the Thursday pre-party), if you prefer walking distance to the festival with no transport hassles, if you want to make friends and be immersed in the Tomorrowland world 24/7, are comfortable with tent living and outdoor facilities, and budget is a concern since camping can be cheaper than hotels plus transport.
Choose a Hotel if you prioritize comfort, quiet sleep, and hotel amenities, want to explore Brussels, Antwerp, or Bruges, prefer a private bathroom and comfortable bed, are okay with 1+ hour commute each way, and want guaranteed dry, comfortable accommodation regardless of weather.
The honest truth from my perspective: we’ve camped at Dreamville for 10 years straight because the experience is unmatched. My wildest memories and best friendships came from Dreamville camping. However while its an incredible experience, camping is not for everyone. Friends who’ve done hotels report better sleep and more comfort, though they consistently say they missed out on the full Tomorrowland immersion and The Gathering experience.

- Mid-range: €150-250/night × 3 nights = €450-750
- Very limited availability – book 6+ months in advance
Tomorrowland-Themed Hotels (Brussels):
For Global Journey packages, there are regular hotels in different categorie: hostel, bronze, silver and gold. There are also Tomorrowland-themed hotels in Brussels that can be booked as part of your package. These offer the official Tomorrowland hotel experience with themed decor and dedicated shuttles, and offer the most immersive hotel experience at Tomorrowland.
- Available with Global Journey packages
- Themed decor and dedicated shuttles
Transportation Costs:
Transportation costs vary significantly, and are a factor at Hotels that are not necessarily a factor for camping at Dreamville.
- Global Journey hotel shuttle: Included in package
- City shuttles: €40-60 round trip per day × 3 days = €120-180
- Train from Antwerp: Cheaper, varies
- Uber there: €40-50
- Taxi back: €100-120 (split among 4 people)
- Rental car: €150-200 + parking
Total Hotel Cost Estimates:
- Budget (Brussels hotel + shuttle): €900-1,100
- Mid-range (Antwerp hotel + shuttle): €1,100-1,400
- Comfortable (Antwerp upscale + shuttle): €1,400-1,800
Winner: It Depends
Dreamville camping is cheaper if you go for Magnificent Greens or Easy Tent options. Hotels become comparable when you factor in transportation costs, and can be similar to Spectacular Easy Tent pricing. Luxury options comparing Montagoe to upscale hotels can be roughly similar in cost or more expensive.
Getting to and From Tomorrowland Festival Grounds
This is where the experience differs dramatically between Tomorrowland camping and hotels.
Dreamville Camping Logistics
Getting to Dreamville involves checking in Thursday and checking out Monday. You make one trip to Dreamville with all your gear, set up once, and you’re done for the entire weekend.
Daily festival access from Dreamville is incredibly convenient. You walk from your tent to the festival in 10-30 minutes depending on your camping area. There are no schedules to worry about. You can return to your tent anytime during the day, though you can’t re-enter the festival until after 5 PM if you leave. There’s no last train or shuttle to catch. When the festival ends at 1 AM, you walk home and are in bed by 1:30 AM.
An added bonus: on the walk from Dreamville to Tomorrowland, you can continue to drink. There are bins at the entrances so you can throw away your empty cups and cans before entering the festival. This is much harder for those traveling by train or shuttle bus as drinking alcohol isn’t technically allowed on public transport.
Total daily commute time from Dreamville is just 20-60 minutes of walking round trip.
Hotel Transport
This is where hotel stays become challenging and in my opinion the biggest downfall of the hotel experience: getting to and from the festival itself.
Global Journey hotel packages require you to be in the hotel lobby by 11:45 AM to catch the noon shuttle, which is often the only departure time. The journey typically takes about an hour hours depending on traffic and your hotel location. Global Journey shuttles run at specific times which are not exactly convenient, locking you into their schedule. However, if you have Global Journey shuttles included in your package, you could also skip those and purchase city shuttles separately for greater flexibility in getting to Tomorrowland.
City shuttles offer significantly more flexibility and are sold during the Tomorrowland Add-On sale in June. They depart every 30 minutes between approximately 11 AM and 5 PM, and you can choose your departure time when buying shuttle tickets. The journey from city center to Tomorrowland takes about 40 minutes, followed by a 15-20 minute walk including security. After the festival closes, the walk from main stage to the exit takes about 40 minutes due to large crowds and closed walkways, then another 15-20 minutes to the city shuttle bus stop. The return journey is 40 minutes back to Brussels, getting you to your hotel around 3:30 AM, or as late as 4:30 AM after showering.
Another option for hotel guests is using Uber to get there and a taxi back. Uber can cost €40-50 to get to Tomorrowland from Brussels. Coming back is a different story – it might be €100-120 in a taxi back to Brussels at the end of the night. However, sharing with 4 people makes it a little easier on the wallet and a decent amount quicker than waiting for shuttles. You can also pre-organize your own private transfers if you prefer guaranteed transport.
Antwerp is the superior hotel option compared to Brussels. Antwerp is closer to Tomorrowland, and you can get the train directly to Boom train station and walk to the festival from there. This is a huge advantage because there is NO direct train route from Brussels to Tomorrowland or Boom Station. If you wanted to get the train from Brussels, you would need to first get to Antwerp and then change trains, adding significant time and complexity. The walk from Antwerp train station to departure points is also shorter than the walk to Global Journey shuttle stops in Brussels. Staying in Antwerp gives you more flexibility, with multiple trains during the day compared to Brussels’ limited shuttles.
The key difference between shuttle options: Global Journey hotel shuttles lock you into a noon departure with zero flexibility. City shuttles provide much more freedom with departures every 30 minutes throughout the day. City shuttle tickets typically don’t sell out until closer to the event.
Exit Strategy: Leaving Tomorrowland
Tomorrowland has two separate entrances: one for Dreamville campers and one for everyone else including hotel guests. This makes a significant difference when leaving the festival at the end of the night.
The Dreamville entrance is very close to the main stage. If you’re at the main stage when the last DJ finishes at 1 AM, it’s a much shorter walk to exit Tomorrowland. By comparison, hotel guests must walk to the other end of the festival grounds to reach their exit. This can take 20-40 minutes alone just to exit the festival grounds if you leave right at the end of the night, as you’ll get caught up with every person leaving at the same time. While there’s still a slower walk for Dreamville campers during peak exit times, it’s not as bad.
Conversely, if you’re at the other end of the festival grounds when the night ends, such as Freedom stage or around that area, it’s much quicker for hotel guests to leave. It really depends on which final act you want to see and what stage they’re playing on. If the closing headliner is on the main stage (which is common), Dreamville has the advantage. If you’re catching acts at stages further from the main stage, hotel guests have easier access to their exit.
Daily festival access from hotels involves waking up in Brussels or Antwerp, getting to the train station or shuttle pickup point, waiting for the train or shuttle, taking a 30-60 minute journey to Boom, then walking from shuttle drop-off to the festival entrance. Total time to festival is 1-1.5 hours minimum.
After the festival ends at 1 AM, the process reverses. You arrive at your hotel between 2:30-4:30 AM depending on your location and shuttle choice. If you miss the last shuttle, you’re paying €100+ for a taxi.
Total daily commute time from hotels is 2-3 hours minimum round trip. Over the weekend, that’s 6-9 hours spent on transportation over 3 days.
Winner: Camping
The time savings alone make Dreamville worth it for many people. You gain 6-9 hours over the weekend that hotel guests spend on transportation. That’s essentially an extra festival day worth of time. The commute exhaustion is real, especially by day 2 and 3 when you’re waking up at 10 AM after getting to bed at 2:30-4:30 AM.
Monday Checkout & Departure
Monday morning after Tomorrowland presents different challenges for each accommodation type. The end of the festival signifies the departure of thousands of festival attendees from the festival grounds and neighboring citing of Antwerp and Brussels.
Dreamville Checkout
In Dreamville, you must pack all your belongings and vacate your tent by 12:00pm (noon). This means packing up camping gear, dealing with weather/rain, potentially muddy equipment, and then getting shuttle buses, trains, or taxis to another city, hotel, or the airport. After three days of festival exhaustion, this process can be draining, especially if you have an afternoon flight or need to travel to another Belgian city. There can be long queues to exit Dreamville at peak times, though Tomorrowland have attempted to improve this last year with pre-determined departure times for global journey ticket holders.
Hotel Checkout
Hotels offer a significant advantage here. You can extend your hotel stay for an extra night or two in the same city if you want to rest and recover. If you’re continuing your travels, you can easily find another hotel in Brussels or Antwerp without changing locations. Getting to the airport or train station for onward travel is straightforward since you’re already in a major city with good transport connections. You don’t have to travel far on Monday morning after three exhausting festival days if you don’t want to – you can simply check out at your leisure and continue your journey from there.
Monday Checkout Winner: Hotels
This is one area where hotels clearly win in convenience, particularly for international travelers who need to catch flights or continue touring Europe.
Comfort & Sleep Quality
Let’s be honest about the comfort factor in Tomorrowland camping versus hotel stays.
Dreamville Camping Comfort
Sleep quality in Dreamville varies significantly by accommodation type. You’ll sleep on air mattresses or real beds depending on your package. It can be noisy, as people party until early hours especially in Magnificent Greens. Earplugs are absolutely essential, and many people including myself take sleeping tablets to properly get to sleep. Temperature fluctuates dramatically, with cold nights even in July and potentially hot conditions during the day. Light comes through tents in the early morning. Overall, sleep quality rates around 5-7 out of 10 depending on your tolerance and accommodation level.
Facilities in Dreamville are shared bathrooms with porta-potties except in Montagoe premium options. Hot showers cost pearls in Magnificent Greens and Easy Tent areas, though they’re free in Montagoe. The showers close around 11 PM, and they can get crowded especially mid-morning. Everything is outdoors and exposed to weather conditions.
Weather has a massive impact on comfort in Dreamville. Rain means mud, except in Spectacular Easy Tent with wooden floor or Montagoe accommodations. It can get very cold at night even in July, requiring serious warm layers. It can also get very hot during the day with no air conditioning except in premium Montagoe options. Your comfort level is entirely weather-dependent.
Privacy is limited in Dreamville. Tents are close together in Magnificent Greens, though there’s more space in Easy Tent and Montagoe areas. It’s still significantly less privacy than a hotel room.
Hotel Comfort
Sleep quality in hotels is excellent, rating 9-10 out of 10. You get a real bed with an actual mattress, a quiet room, air conditioning or heat control, and blackout curtains. However, it’s important to note that you’re arriving back at your hotel at 2:30-4:30 AM after shuttles and showers, which means you’re not actually getting to bed until very late despite having a comfortable bed.
Facilities in hotels include private bathrooms with hot showers available 24/7, flush toilets, and hotel amenities like Wi-Fi, TV, and room service. You can shower whenever you want without paying pearls or dealing with lines.
Weather has zero impact when staying in hotels. You’re indoors and comfortable regardless of rain, cold, or heat. You have guaranteed dry space.
Privacy is complete in hotel rooms. You can decompress away from festival crowds in your own private space.
Winner: Hotels
If comfort and sleep quality are your priorities, hotels win hands down. However, the late arrival times (2:30-4:30 AM) mean you’re still not getting much sleep despite the comfortable bed if you want to take full advantage of the festival. Hotel guests often report being exhausted by day 2 and 3, waking up at 9am/10 AM to eat breakfast and catch the noon shuttle after only 5-6 hours of sleep. In Dreamville, you can be in bed by 1:30-2 AM, giving you more actual sleep hours even if the quality isn’t as high.
Food & Drink Options
Dreamville Food & Drink
In Dreamville, while there are great food options, your choices are somewhat limited to what’s inside the festival grounds. The food is generally excellent though. The major advantage is that you can bring whatever food and drink you like into Dreamville, provided that nothing is in glass. You can pour any alcohol from glass bottles, like vodka, into plastic bottles and you’re fine to enter Dreamville. This means you can stock up at supermarkets and save significant money on food and drinks.
Festival prices for food and drink are more expensive than outside supermarkets, so the ability to bring your own supplies is a considerable cost-saving advantage. Many campers buy groceries at the nearby Carrefour supermarket in Rumst and bring in their own alcohol, snacks, and breakfast items.
Hotel Food & Drink
If staying outside Dreamville in Brussels or Antwerp, you have the entire city’s choices for food and restaurants. There is much greater selection and variety without festival markup prices. You can experience authentic Belgian cuisine, explore different neighborhoods, and choose from hundreds of restaurants at normal city prices.
The downside is you’re paying for every meal out, whereas Dreamville campers can supplement expensive festival food with their own supplies.
Winner: DRAw
Dreamville wins for cost-effectiveness since you can bring and consume your own food and drink, avoiding festival markup prices for most meals. Hotels win for variety and selection – you can eat and drink anywhere in the city of your choosing, experiencing Belgian culture and cuisine. It depends whether you prioritize saving money (Dreamville) or culinary variety (Hotels).
The Tomorrowland Experience & Social Atmosphere
This is where Dreamville camping truly shines and hotels cannot compete.
Dreamville Camping Experience
The Gathering on Thursday night is exclusive to Dreamville guests only. World-class DJs perform at this pre-party, and it’s essentially a 4th festival day. Hotel guests cannot access The Gathering at all. Many global journey hotel packages do include “Invite Brussels” on Thursday, which is a pre-party in the middle of Brussels city center, but it’s nowhere near as good as The Gathering at Dreamville. The Gathering is at the actual festival grounds with the full Tomorrowland production, while Invite Brussels is just a city party.
Living in Dreamville provides 24/7 Tomorrowland immersion. You wake up at Tomorrowland, eat breakfast surrounded by People of Tomorrow, pre-game with your camp neighbors, walk to festival together or with the marching band, return for afternoon naps if wanted, attend after-parties in the campground, and go to sleep at Tomorrowland. It’s complete immersion in the festival world.
The social experience in Dreamville is incredible. You make friends with tent neighbors instantly, meet people from over 100 countries, and the campground community is unlike anything else. There are spontaneous gatherings and parties constantly, and the shared experience bonds people in a unique way.
Freedom and flexibility in Dreamville means you can pop back to your tent for a break, change outfits mid-day, drop off merchandise purchases, and recharge yourself and your devices if you have power. You’re not locked into shuttle schedules or carrying everything you need all day.
Dreamville facilities include a gym and fitness classes, tennis and pickleball courts, shops and marketplace, multiple food vendors, a hair salon and tattoo parlor, and daily entertainment and activities. It’s a complete temporary city.
Hotel Experience
Hotel guests have no access to The Gathering. They get Invite Brussels on Thursday instead, which is a pre-party in Brussels city center, but it’s not at the same level as The Gathering at the actual festival grounds. You can only attend the festival Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Hotels keep you separate from the festival. When the festival ends, you leave and return to the “real world” in Brussels or Antwerp. However, this does give you the opportunity to explore Belgian cities like Antwerp, Brussels, and Bruges, and experience Belgian culture, restaurants, and nightlife.
The social experience with hotels involves after-parties at Brussels or Antwerp clubs, meeting locals and other travelers in the city, but there’s less festival-specific community. You often need to actively seek out other festival-goers rather than being surrounded by them constantly, unless you manage to get one of the two Tomorrowland themed hotels.
Flexibility from hotels is limited. You cannot easily return to your hotel during the festival day. You must carry everything you need all day. There’s no place to rest except finding grass at the festival grounds.
Winner: Camping
If you want the full Tomorrowland experience, Dreamville is unmatched. The Gathering alone is worth the camping experience, and Invite Brussels doesn’t come close. The 24/7 immersion, the friendships, the spontaneous moments – that’s what makes Tomorrowland legendary. Hotels offer the opportunity to explore Belgium and experience more than just the festival, but you’ll miss the core Tomorrowland community experience.
Weather
Belgium weather is notoriously unpredictable, even in July and the middle of summer. Let’s talk about how weather impacts each option.
Weather at Dreamville Camping
If it rains, Magnificent Greens can become muddy in tent areas. Easy Tent grass gets muddy and the tent stays relatively dry. Spectacular Easy Tent with its wooden floor and astroturf has minimal mud impact, which is a huge positive for those tents. The montagoe glamping area has better structures and is less impacted overall. Your clothes, shoes, and gear can get muddy, and you’ll be walking to the festival in rain and mud.
However, Tomorrowland does a pretty good job at trying to protect from muddy trails. There are wooden pathways everywhere throughout the campgrounds and the festival. The whole Dreamville Marketplace and Gathering stage area is on wooden planks. Tents are on grassed areas, and pathways in tent areas are grassed or dirt, which is where the highest chance of getting muddy is. The main walkways and high-traffic areas have wooden protection.
If it’s cold, which is common at night even in July, you need warm layers and good sleeping bags. Spectacular Easy Tent and Montagoe accommodations have better insulation. Regular tents can get very cold, and I’ve experienced nights where I needed multiple layers.
If it’s hot, tents heat up significantly during the day. There’s no air conditioning except in Montagoe premium options which cost thousands of euros. It can be uncomfortable being in your tent mid-day, so a mid-day nap is often out of the question if it’s sunny.
The reality check is that rain is likely at least one day during Tomorrowland. The weather forecast changes hourly so you honestly never really know if it will rain. You need to prepare for rain, cold, and heat, sometimes all in the same day. Given the highly unpredictable nature of Belgium’s weather, this is a strong possibility.
Weather at Tomorrowland Hotels
If it rains, you stay dry in your hotel. You might get wet during the shuttle or train commute, but you return to a warm, dry room after the festival and can dry off completely.
If it’s cold, you have a warm hotel room, hot showers whenever you want, and a comfortable bed with blankets.
If it’s hot, you have air conditioning in the hotel and a cool refuge after a hot festival day.
Winner: Hotels
Hotels completely eliminate weather concerns. You have a guaranteed dry, temperature-controlled space. However many Dreamville campers say embracing the weather chaos is part of the Tomorrowland adventure and adds to the memories.
Storing Valuables & Security
Dreamville Security
In Dreamville, you must rent a locker to keep your valuables, passports, and important items safe. Lockers are available throughout Dreamville and can be pre-purchased during voucher sales or bought on arrival if available. This is essential because it has been known that people might try to enter your tent when you’re not around, especially in Magnificent Greens. Lockers are patrolled 24/7 for security.
Spectacular Easy Tent and Supreme Easy Tent include locker rental in their package. For Montagoe accommodation, all tents and cabanas are lockable, and you have secure storage inside your accommodation. This provides better security than tents in Magnificent Greens or Easy Tent.
The cost of lockers varies by size, but it’s an additional expense you need to budget for if you’re in Magnificent Greens or standard Easy Tent.
Hotel Security
Hotels provide complete security for your valuables. You have a lockable hotel room with a safe where you can store passports, cash, electronics, and anything valuable. There’s no additional rental cost – it’s included with your room. You also have 24/7 hotel security and reception.
This is a significant advantage for peace of mind, especially for international travelers carrying passports and important documents.
Winner: Hotels
Hotels win for security and convenience. Everything locks in your room with a safe, no additional costs, and no worry about tent security. In Dreamville, you must rent lockers (except premium Montagoe), and there are security concerns with regular tents.
Best Tomorrowland Accommodation for Different Traveler Types
First-Timers
Recommendation: Dreamville Magnificent Greens or Easy Tent
You want the full experience including The Gathering. Invite Brussels is not the same. Easy Tent removes the camping gear hassle. You can always do hotels in future years, but your first Tomorrowland should be the complete immersion experience. Don’t miss The Gathering.
Budget Travelers
Recommendation: Dreamville Magnificent Greens
This is the cheapest option overall at €381-479 plus gear. If you buy camping gear before arriving or at the on-site store, it’s significantly cheaper than hotels plus transportation.
Comfort Seekers & Older Travelers
Recommendation: Hotel OR Montagoe Glamping
If sleep quality and comfort are non-negotiable, don’t compromise. A hotel gives you the rest you need, though be aware you’ll still arrive back very late (3:30-4:30 AM). If you still want The Gathering experience, splurge on Montagoe for luxury camping. Tents and accomodation in Montagoe can be very difficult to get and are the first to sell out every year. Be prepared with backup plans.
Solo Travelers
Recommendation: Dreamville Camping (Any Level)
Dreamville is the easiest place to make friends. You’ll bond with tent neighbors instantly. Hotels can be isolating when traveling alone, and you won’t have the same organic social opportunities.
Groups of Friends
Recommendation: Dreamville Friendship Garden OR Dreamville Magnificent Greens OR Hotels
If your whole group (10 people) wants to camp together, Friendship Garden guarantees you’re all in one area. If your group is split on camping versus comfort, hotels in Antwerp and Brussels let you all stay nearby and explore together.
International Travelers (Outside Europe)
Recommendation: Dreamville Easy Tent or Spectacular Easy Tent
You’re not bringing camping gear on a plane. Easy Tent provides everything you need. The time saved on daily commutes (6-9 hours over the weekend) gives you more festival time. Hotels make sense if you’re extending your trip to tour Europe.
European Travelers (Within Driving Distance)
Recommendation: Dreamville Magnificent Greens OR Hotels
You can drive and bring camping gear easily, making Magnificent Greens feasible for the authentic experience. Alternatively, hotels in Brussels and Antwerp let you enjoy the city nightlife.
People Who Want to Explore Belgium
Recommendation: Hotel in Brussels or Antwerp
If Tomorrowland is part of a larger Belgium or Europe trip, hotels in Brussels or Antwerp position you to explore. You can visit Bruges, Ghent, and other cities on non-festival days.

Overall Winner: Dreamville Camping
After camping at Dreamville for 10 consecutive years, here’s our honest recommendation: Do Dreamville camping, even just for your first Tomorrowland. The full experience including The Gathering is too special to miss, and Invite Brussels doesn’t come close to the same experience. The friendships you make and memories you create in Dreamville are what make Tomorrowland legendary. The immersion, the spontaneous moments, the community – you can’t replicate that from a hotel.
Choose your Dreamville camping level based on budget and comfort needs. For budget and authentic experience, go with Magnificent Greens. For best value, choose Spectacular Easy Tent. For comfort, select Montagoe options.
Hotels make sense when you’ve done Dreamville before and want to experience Tomorrowland differently, you’re extending your trip to explore Belgium, comfort and sleep are non-negotiable priorities, or you have mobility issues or health concerns. However, be aware that even with hotels, you might not get much sleep due to late arrival times and early-ish shuttles.
The perfect compromise? Some people do both! Camp at Dreamville for Weekend 1, stay in hotels for Weekend 2, or vice versa. This gives you the complete Tomorrowland experience spectrum.
Frequently Asked Questions: Tomorrowland Camping vs Hotel
Should I camp at Tomorrowland if I don’t camp regularly?
Yes! In our opinion, camping at Tomorrowland is the complete experience. It’s fun, immersive in the whole experience and your already at the festival – no need to worry about trains or shuttles. Many first-time campers absolutely love the experience.
Can hotel guests access Dreamville?
No. Hotel guests with day tickets can only access the festival grounds. They cannot enter Dreamville camping areas or attend The Gathering. They get access to Invite Brussels on Thursday instead, which is a pre-party in Brussels city center but not comparable to The Gathering.
Can I do both camping and hotel?
Only if you buy multiple tickets or go multiple weekends. Some people camp for one weekend and stay in hotels for the other if attending both weekends. You cannot split accommodation during a single weekend though.
Which is cheaper: Tomorrowland camping or hotel?
Dreamville Magnificent Greens totaling €600-800 and Easy Tent totaling €900-1,100 are typically cheaper than hotels plus transportation totaling €900-1,400. Spectacular Easy Tent and hotels are comparable in cost.
Which is better for sleep?
Hotels provide significantly better sleep quality, rating 9-10 out of 10 versus Dreamville camping rating 5-7 out of 10. However, hotel guests often don’t arrive back until 2:30-4:30 AM, meaning they get fewer total hours of sleep despite the better bed. Bring earplugs and sleeping pills if camping in Magnificent Greens.
Can I leave my valuables in my hotel vs tent?
Hotels are more secure with room safes. In Dreamville, you should rent a locker for passports and other valuables. Like anywhere, tent security can be an issue in Magnificent Greens if you’re not careful. Montagoe has lockable accommodations.
What if it rains?
Hotels eliminate all weather concerns as you stay dry. In Dreamville, rain means mud except Spectacular Easy Tent with wooden floor or Montagoe. Rain is likely at some point during Tomorrowland given Belgium’s unpredictable weather.
Is The Gathering worth camping for?
Yes, absolutely. The Gathering is an incredible experience, essentially a 4th festival day with major DJ performances, exclusive to Dreamville guests. Many people say The Gathering alone justifies camping. Invite Brussels for hotel guests is not the same experience.
Where should I stay if I’m coming from the US?
Most Americans choose Hotels or Dreamville Easy Tent or Spectacular Easy Tent since you’re not bringing camping gear on a plane. Hotels in Brussels also work well if you’re touring Europe, though you’ll miss The Gathering.
What’s the difference between Global Journey hotel shuttles and city shuttles?
Global Journey hotel shuttles leave at noon sharp from designated hotels with little flexibility. City shuttles leave every 30 minutes between approximately 11 AM and 5 PM, giving much more flexibility. City shuttles typically don’t sell out until closer to the event. City shuttles provide significantly better flexibility than Global Journey shuttles that are included in the packages.
Which option is best for making friends?
Dreamville camping, especially Magnificent Greens and Easy Tent areas. The communal atmosphere makes it easy to bond with neighbors. Hotels are much harder for solo travelers to meet people.
Is Antwerp or Brussels better for Tomorrowland hotels?
Antwerp is closer to Tomorrowland and the walk to the train station is shorter than to Global Journey shuttles in Brussels. Antwerp gives you more flexibility with at least one train per hour during the day, whereas there’s only one Global Journey shuttle from Brussels at noon. Antwerp involves a little less walking overall and is the superior choice.
Final Thoughts
The choice between Tomorrowland camping and hotels ultimately comes down to what kind of experience you want.
If you want the full, immersive, legendary Tomorrowland experience, choose Dreamville camping. You’ll have The Gathering, which Invite Brussels cannot replicate. You’ll save 6-9 hours on transportation over the weekend. You’ll make lifelong friends and create the wildest memories. Yes, you’ll sacrifice some comfort and deal with weather, but that’s part of the adventure. After 10 years of camping at Dreamville, I can tell you the experience is absolutely worth it. I wouldn’t do it any other way.
However if you prioritize comfort, quality sleep, and exploring Belgium, choose hotels. You’ll rest better and stay dry regardless of weather. You’ll have a base in Brussels or Antwerp to experience Belgian culture. However, you’ll miss The Gathering entirely, and you’ll spend significant time commuting and arrive back very late each night (2:30-4:30 AM), and you won’t have the same immersive Tomorrowland experience.
Our recommendation? Do Dreamville camping at least once, preferably for your first Tomorrowland. You can always stay in hotels in future years, but your first Tomorrowland should be the complete experience. Start with Easy Tent or Spectacular Easy Tent if you want convenience with the camping experience. Don’t miss The Gathering – it’s genuinely one of the highlights of the entire weekend.
No matter which accommodation you choose, Tomorrowland will be incredible.
