Hilton Garden Inn Nusa Dua Review: Brand New Bali Hotel
We recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Bali Nusa Dua, which only opened in late September 2025, and honestly – we’re impressed by what Hilton has done with this space. This 159-room hotel sits right on the busy Jalan Pratama road in Nusa Dua, and it’s the kind of place that immediately feels fresh and thoughtfully designed. Despite the busy road at the front, the entrance feature waterfall and inviting lobby is a great welcome for what is to come.

About The Hilton Garden Inn Bali Nusa Dua
This hotel has an interesting backstory. The building itself isn’t brand new – it previously operated as the Ibis Styles Bali Benoa. Hilton took over the property and gave it a complete makeover, reopening it as the Hilton Garden Inn Bali Nusa Dua in late September 2025. You can still see the bones of the original structure, but the interiors have been completely reimagined with Hilton’s brighter, more modern design language.
The hotel has 159 rooms spread across the property, making it a decent size without feeling massive or impersonal. It officially opened its doors on September 26, 2025, so when we stayed, everything still had that brand-new feel to it. Staff were enthusiastic, systems were running smoothly, and the property hadn’t developed any of the wear and tear you sometimes see at older hotels.
Why We Chose The Hilton Garden Inn Nusa Dua
Here’s the honest reason we ended up here: we needed one more night to hit Silver Status with Hilton Honors, and we only had a single night to fill before meeting our group at a villa in Seminyak. So we started looking at Hilton properties near the airport.
The Hilton Garden Inn Bali Airport seemed like the obvious choice given how close it is, but the reviews are pretty average at best. We didn’t want to waste our first night in Bali at a mediocre airport hotel (even if it was only for a few hours), so we kept looking. That’s when we came across this newly opened property in Nusa Dua.
We pre-booked a Klook transfer from the airport which cost us less than $15 AUD. Our driver took the free road instead of the toll road, so we hit some congestion around 7:00pm and the journey took about 20-25 minutes. Not bad at all, and definitely worth it to stay somewhere more interesting than an airport hotel.
Location
The Hilton Garden Inn sits on Jalan Pratama in Tanjung Benoa, directly opposite the Conrad Bali. It’s not a beachfront property, but you’re close enough that getting to the beach is barely an inconvenience – just a short walk and you’re there.
The location puts you in a good spot for exploring this part of Bali. Ngurah Rai International Airport is about 20-25 minutes away depending on traffic and which route you take. The Bali Nusa Dua Convention Centre is nearby if you’re here for business or events, and you’ve got easy access to the popular beaches in the area. For business travelers especially, the 6-minute drive to the convention centre makes this one of the most convenient Hilton hotels in Bali for corporate events and conferences.
One thing to note: the hotel doesn’t run an airport shuttle, so you’ll need to arrange your own transport. We used Klook and pre-booked a transfer, which was simple, easy, and cheap – less than $15 AUD. I’d recommend doing the same rather than dealing with taxis at the airport.
The area itself is surprisingly walkable. There are plenty of mini marts scattered around when you need to grab snacks or drinks, and you’re not short on dining options either. We saw numerous restaurants within walking distance, so you’re not stuck eating at the hotel every night if you don’t want to.
Arrival & Check In
We rolled up to the hotel around 7:30pm and the lobby was pretty much empty apart from the check-in staff. After a flight, the quiet atmosphere was exactly what we needed – no crowds, no chaos, just a smooth arrival.
The lobby itself is gorgeous. It’s this open, airy space with modern wood accents and plenty of comfortable lounges and chairs scattered around. You get the sense that this hotel is aimed more at business travelers than the typical Bali beach holiday crowd. Given it’s only a 6-minute drive from the Nusa Dua Convention Centre, I imagine it’ll be popular with conference attendees and corporate travelers.
We’d booked a standard king room for the night, but to our pleasant surprise, we were upgraded to a pool view room. The view of the pool area from our room was excellent. I’m guessing we got the upgrade because we’re Hilton Honors members and the hotel was quiet that night – we don’t have much status with Hilton, so it wasn’t like we were entitled to it or anything. Just a nice gesture that made our stay feel a bit more special.
The Rooms
Our king room with pool view was modern and more spacious than we’d anticipated. We had two large suitcases plus our small carry-on bags, and there was plenty of room to open everything up without the usual luggage Tetris you have to play in smaller hotel rooms.
The room setup is smart. A huge flatscreen TV is mounted on the wall in a stylish cabinet, there’s a small table and chair in the corner for working or writing, and next to the window sits a small chaise lounge.
The balcony overlooking the pool is technically a Juliet balcony – sliding doors that open up but not much room to actually step out onto. It’s more for getting fresh air and opening up the room than for sitting outside. That said, the view over the pool is lovely, especially first thing in the morning. During one of those thundery Bali showers, we stood there watching the rain fall into the pool, which was oddly satisfying.
Now, about the bed. It’s king width, but the length felt short. At 6’4″, I was overhanging the end of the bed, which wasn’t ideal. It’s not a normal feeling for me in a king bed, which leads me to think it was shorter than regular king beds. The mattress was also quite firm – if you like a softer bed like I do, it’s not going to be your favorite. The two pillows were comfortable though, so that’s something.
The bathroom is genuinely great. Large walk-in shower with a rainfall head, a decent-sized vanity, and a proper-sized space overall. No complaints there.
Overall, the rooms are comfortable and spacious. My only real gripes were the bed firmness and length, but for most people who aren’t exceptionally tall, the room would be perfectly fine.
Pool & Amenities
The outdoor pool is a good size with a small shallow end towards the back that’s perfect for kids. It stays open until 10pm daily, which is nice if you want an evening swim after dinner. Around the pool, there are plenty of modern wooden sunlounges that are actually comfortable, and large umbrellas provide shade when you need it.
The 24-hour gym sits right next to the pool. It’s small – one treadmill, one elliptical machine, two racks of dumbbells, a bench, and a cable machine. You could definitely get a workout in, but you’d probably struggle if more than a few people were inside at once. For a quick session or maintaining your routine while traveling, it does the job.
One amenity that genuinely impressed us was the laundry room. Two brand new washers and two brand new dryers – perfect for business travelers or families who need to do washing mid-trip. We wished we’d had this throughout our entire Bali stay. We don’t like using hotel laundry services because they use dryers that can be prone to shrinkage, so having the option to do it ourselves was a real bonus.
There are also meeting and business rooms on the second floor, which makes sense given the hotel’s proximity to the convention centre. Free wifi is available throughout the property, and in our experience, it was reliable and fast enough for work or streaming.
The Kids Club is open from 9am to 5pm daily, and it’s actually the first dedicated Kids Club in any Hilton Garden Inn across Asia Pacific. The space has a jungle adventure theme with treehouse-style decor, jungle motifs, and cozy bean bags scattered around. They run activities like arts and crafts, storytelling, and creative play throughout the day. We didn’t have kids with us on this trip, but if you’re traveling with young ones, it looks like a solid setup – colorful, engaging, and somewhere parents can drop the kids off for a bit while they get some quiet time by the pool or catch up on work.
Restaurants & Dining
We arrived at the hotel in the evening and immediately wanted dinner. After a flight and a long travel day, room service was exactly what we craved. The hotel provides this and more through its dining options.
Together & Co Restaurant
The hotel’s main restaurant sits in the lobby and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It also handles room service with the same menu. One thing to note: Hilton members get a discount when dining in the restaurant, but not if you’re ordering room service. Prices are reasonable, so it wasn’t a big issue for us.
We ended up eating at Together & Co via the in-room dining service on our first night.
In-Room Dining
We got to our room after our day of travel and just wanted to relax, grab some food, and fall asleep. We searched everywhere for the in-room dining menu but couldn’t find it. After calling reception (who transferred us to the restaurant), we learned that the hotel doesn’t have menus in the rooms yet. We had to venture down to the lobby and restaurant to check out the options.
Food prices are decent and not overly expensive. Main dishes start from about 70,000 IDR for a basic pasta, with most falling in the 100,000 – 200,000 IDR range. A few items go higher, like the Australian striploin steak. Like many restaurants in Bali, tax and service charge are added on top – 11% tax and 10% service charge. This applies both in the restaurant and for room service, though there’s no extra in-room dining surcharge.
We ordered the nasi goreng and the chicken burger with fries. The nasi goreng wasn’t the warmest, unfortunately, and could have been a little tastier. It was ok overall, but nothing to write home about. The chicken burger tasted quite good, though the portion was on the small side. The burger itself wasn’t huge, but we ordered extra french fries which helped fill the gap.
Breakfast at the Hilton Garden Inn Nusa Dua
Breakfast runs daily from 6:30am to 10:00am. Not all room rates include it, but we specifically chose a room rate with breakfast so we didn’t have to venture far in the morning.
The breakfast was quite good – better than I expected, honestly. It has the usual offerings you find at Asia and Bali hotels: a made-to-order egg station, hot bain maries with Indonesian dishes like noodles and nasi goreng, plus Western options like bacon, sausages, and hash browns. The egg station does omelets or eggs any way you want them – scrambled, fried, whatever.
One standout was the pancake and waffle station. They cook them to order rather than making them ahead and letting them sit under a warming light. Hot, fresh, crispy waffles are a great touch that many hotels skip in our experience. There’s a bread station with multiple options and a toaster – including bagels, which is perfect for making your own breakfast bagels. Around the corner you’ll find yogurt and fresh fruit, though there wasn’t that much fresh fruit available.
Coffee machines serve the masses their morning caffeine fix. It’s fine, but it’s no barista coffee. Overall, the breakfast was quite good and tasty. I’d recommend booking a rate with breakfast included if you have time to enjoy it in the morning.
T&Co. Pool Bar
The pool has its own dedicated bar serving drinks throughout the day to pool guests, hotel lobby visitors, and restaurant patrons. It was fairly quiet when we arrived in the evening. They also serve pool food through the Together & Co restaurant menu.
&To Go
&To Go is a small self-service mini-mart style corner of the hotel next to the pool bar. It stocks beers, snacks, drinks, and more. It’s open until midnight, which is handy if you want a late-night drink or snack in your room.
Service at the Hilton Garden Inn Bali Nusa Dua
The service at the hotel deserves a brief mention. Every staff member we encountered seemed genuinely happy and smiling, which is always a nice touch. There’s something refreshing about staff who appear to actually enjoy their jobs rather than just going through the motions. From check-in to the restaurant to housekeeping, everyone was friendly and helpful.
Pricing & Value
We paid 2,850,000 IDR (approximately $170 USD/$250 AUD) including tax and service charge for one night on December 26th with the bed and breakfast rate. This was definitely higher than what you’d normally pay at other times of the year – peak season between Christmas and New Year always commands a premium in Bali.
To be honest, it’s not the best value we’ve gotten at a hotel. But we were chasing that one extra night to hit Hilton Silver Status, so for us it was worth it. The room was nice, breakfast was good, and everything was new and well-maintained.
Outside of peak season, room rates start from between 1,200,000 IDR and 1,800,000 IDR depending on the time of year and day of the week. At those prices, it’s much better value. Being relatively close to the airport, it’s a good option for travelers with early flights or late arrivals, and the proximity to the convention centre makes it ideal for business travelers too. If you’re booking during a quieter period, you’d probably find much better value. But if you’re stuck with holiday season dates like we were, it’s a solid choice that won’t disappoint.
Final Recommendation
Overall Rating: 8.5/10
The Hilton Garden Inn Bali Nusa Dua is good for a night or two, especially if you’re a business traveler or need somewhere comfortable near the airport. For business travelers specifically, this brand new hotel is a solid option – everything is fresh, modern, and functional. We didn’t encounter any teething issues despite the hotel only being open a few months, which speaks well to how they’ve launched the property.
That said, many travelers coming to Bali are looking for something more resort-style or exotic. This isn’t that. It’s a well-executed business hotel with good amenities, but it doesn’t have that tropical Bali resort atmosphere you might be craving if you’re here purely on holiday.
Would we stay again? For a quick overnight or a status run, absolutely. For a week-long Bali vacation, probably not. But that’s not really what this hotel is trying to be, and for what it is – a modern, comfortable, efficiently run hotel in a convenient location – it does the job very well.
